Education Fund

What is the LWVG Educational Fund?

The League of Women Voters of Greenwich Educational Fund’s mission is to encourage the informed participation of citizens in government and to increase understanding of major public policy issues.  Founders of the League of Women Voters believed that citizens who have access to the facts and who know how to participate effectively will make wise decisions for their communities and their country.  Eight decades later, the League of Women Voters Educational Fund’s work is guided by the same belief.

What does the LWVG Educational Fund do?

The LWVG Educational Fund builds citizen participation in the democratic process by supporting a range of programs and activities including community forums, publications and voter service.

The Fund provides impartial, accurate information on which citizens depend to make informed decisions on the issues. These issues range from education, to natural resources, to health care policy.

Community  forums sponsored by the LWVG Educational Fund include: “Sheff vs. O’Neill Decision: Understanding the Legislation’s Impact on Local Schools”, “Pollution Solutions,”  and “Let’s Talk About Medicare Reform: What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You.”
